ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE TYPES
There are many different alternative medicine types, some are very well-known, others aren't commonly heard of or practiced.There are entire medical practices made up on a set of theories. The best examples of alternative medicine systems and practice are Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, both of these are very well-known (and even respected) practices of alternative medicine which have been around for centuries. They are most commonly accepted because the theories appear to be sound and the remedies, for the most part, appear to work. You might have heard some of these things while playing medical online games at the internet.
Physical body methods practice of alternative medicine include chiropractic practitioners, massage therapists and reflexologists- along with many others. These are methods which involve a very hands-on approach to treating the body and usually involve physically manipulating the limbs or other parts of the body. As well, these have been primarily proven to be effective in treating physical problems, such as back pain, chronic body pain, headaches and even other health problems.
The use of plants, herbs and other ingredients found in nature is commonly referred to as a form of biological therapies. This can include, but is not limited to: herbal remedies, use of hormones and other tissues from animals, and even many supplements that one adds to their daily diet. Some of these methods have been proven to work, while others often seem to have no real basis for the claims behind them or they have not been proven yet.
Other types of alternative medicine include: Mind and body techniques, which help align the body and mind to help promote general overall health- these types of methods include prayer, meditation, art therapy, physical outlets to relieve emotional or mental stress or overload, and many other various types of techniques to help provide a general sense of health and well-being.
While the many different types and methods of alternative medicine vary, there basic premise is the same- Modern medicine isn't the only method of healing that works.
